映画「追憶」舞台挨拶
11月12日（土）、東京都写真美術館ホールにて映画「追憶」の舞台挨拶が行われました。監督の小栗謙一氏と共にマツタロウ大使並びに大使夫人が登壇しました。映画「追憶」は1944年に起きたペリリュー島の戦いを取り上げたドキュメンタリー映画です。

ALERT: Confirmed Zika Virus in Palau
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Palau announced November 7th, 2016 of a confirmed Zika virus case in Palau after receiving laboratory confirmation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The person has had no recent travel history to any Zika-affected areas and is likely to have been infected in Palau.
Please be advised if you are planning a trip to Palau.

パラオ国内に於いてジカウィルス感染症の感染者が確認されたことが米国疾病予防管理センター（CDC）の検査結果を受けパラオ政府保健省より１１月７日付で発表されました。感染者はここ最近、ジカウィルス感染症の感染地域に渡航歴は無く、パラオ国内で発症したものと思われます。
パラオに渡航されるご予定のある方はご注意下さい。

アクアマリンふくしま「シーボーンアート展＠パラオの休日」｜Aquamarine Fukushima – Seaborn Art Exhibition
福島県いわき市にあるアクアマリンふくしまはパラオ国際サンゴ礁センターと友好園館関係を結んでおります。また、「パラオの海」を再現した展示エリアがあります。そのアクアマリンふくしまにて9月17日（土）から11月20日（日）まで小名浜国際環境芸術祭のイベントとしてシーボーンアート展＠パラオの休日が開催されています。海の漂着物を使ったアート作品の展覧会です。是非、訪れてみてください。
ちょっとしたトリビアとしまして、アクアマリンふくしまと2003年3月に友好提携を終結した際のパラオ国際サンゴ礁センターの初代所長が現在の弊大使館のマツタロウ大使なのです。また、昨年行われました第7回太平洋島・サミット（PALM7）の開催地がいわき市ということもあり、パラオといわき市並びにアクアマリンふくしまは親密な関係にあります。
